The Glass Art Society Conference of 2018 was held on the island of Murano near Venice, Italy. We hopped on the foot ferry from Venice in the morning for a full day in Murano. We had the incredible good fortune, honor and privilege to have the opportunity to see and experience the inner workings of the ancient glass factories of Venini. Glass artist Angelo Pinzan, with Venini since 1987, was featured at work on this day. Later that day, on the Fondamenta Dei Vetrai, the ancient and revered Barovier & Toso opened its doors to our wandering feet. The glass creations of Barovier & Toso date back to 1324. That’s 1324. I feel I have so much to see.
Little cheesy had a big day – time to cool off near the water.
