an object that is thought to have magic powers and to bring good luck.
As I empty my backpack in to the armoir in our Venetian apartment, my glass cheeseburger glimmers a smile at me. It’s 7 a.m. on our first day in Venice. I kicked coffee 7 years prior, but the smell of a rich, authentic, Italian cappuccino is too much to bear. In the piazza cradling our terrace, a table for two awaits, with hints of glowing morning sun. I carry my creation and my good luck charm to coffee and sit in on the table next to my delicious cappuccino. I snap a photo, finish my breakfast, and we walk to the water taxi to Murano for our first day of the Glass Art Society Conference 2018.
